At Punt Road Wines and Napoleone Cider, we invest in our number one asset - people. We are looking for a talented Hospitality Manager to join a high-functioning team that is focused on continually improving our guest experience. The Hospitality Manager will oversee operations at three onsite venues - our wine Cellar Door, Garden Marquee bar, and the Napoelone Cider Orchard Bar (our sister company).

A bit about Punt Road & Napoleone Cider 

Punt Road Wines was established in 1987 with Napoleone Cider following in 2008. We harvest fruit which is grown on our Estate here in Coldstream and make our wines and cider onsite here in our winery. Just 50 minutes from Melbourne, we enjoy a wonderful array of visitors from Melbourne, Australia, and around the world.  In 2021 Our Cellar Door was Gourmet Travellers Best Yarra Valley Tasting Experience and our wines have been awarded numerous awards. This truly is a beautiful and special place.

Minimum experience

  • 5 years in a hospitality setting
  • 2 years managing multiple staff
  • Demonstrated experience of strong leadership in a professional or personal setting
  • The ability to thrive and calmly make decisions under pressure
  • Valid RSA

 

Preferred experience 

  • 5 years supervisory experience in a hospitality, restaurant or hospitality events setting
  • WSET qualification (Wine and Spirits Education Trust)
  • Basic IT skills and experience with Point of Sale systems

 

Core duties 

Reporting to the General Manager and supported by an Assistant Hospitality Manager and several cellar door casuals, the Hospitality Manager will:

 

  • Manage the hospitality operations of three venues - the wine Cellar Door, Garden Marquee bar and the Napoleone Cider Orchard Bar
  • Manage and mentor the Assistant Hospitality Manager and part of the casual team
  • Be accountable for ensuring we deliver the highest quality guest experience so that guests walk away with a connection to our wines and are converted into making purchases and signing up as wine club members
  • Create and execute improved service offerings – amongst other things wine and cider tastings, food, food and wine pairings, and events
  • Be accountable for sales performance, spend per head targets, and staying within expenditure budgets
  • Collaborate closely with the Wine Club Manager, General Manager, Marketing Manager, Sales Manager and Winemaking team
