Position 0verview

The Restaurant Manager oversees and manages the daily operations of Salter’s Kitchen restaurant and is the ‘face’ of the restaurant bringing a great attitude, vibrant personality and a true passion for food, beverage, customer service and all-round hospitality to the role.  The role is full-time and reports to the Saltram Venue Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversees restaurant operation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards and RSA regulations.
  • Drives high energy within venue.
  • Sets and maintains a high level of customer service, implementing effective and efficient systems and procedures.
  • Coordinates and manages front of house staff, leading an energetic team to deliver high quality service to guests.
  • Recruits, coaches, inducts and mentors new employees to build and maintain a strong and positive team culture.
  • Supports venue marketing strategies to grow the business.
  • Creates and implements new ideas and processes to improve the business.
  • Manage all facets of wine list presentation and wine service.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
  • Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to meet company KPIs.
  • Collaborates with the Venue Manager, Functions & Events Manager, restaurant team and the leadership team to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Maintains sales records and tracks cash receipts.
  • Sets and manages clear customer satisfaction and sales measures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Education and Experience

  •  High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous restaurant experience required; management experience preferred.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Badge.
