Hayes Family Wines is a leading organic and sustainable grape grower and winemaker in the world-famous Barossa Valley.  We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic person who is experienced in hospitality and has a passion for wine to join our small team.

This role is primarily in the Cellar Door, however additional opportunities to gain further experience and professional development in Sales & Marketing, Viticulture and Winemaking are also possible.

Hayes Family Wines is a boutique and highly awarded Barossa Valley Winery. We are a 5 Red Star James Halliday Wine Companion Winery. Our Estate Vineyards are Certified Organic and Certified Sustainable.

Our small cellar door is an essential part of our business, providing an educational and engaging wine experience for our guests.  We have a large set of wines and we target our tastings to suit the individual needs of our customers.  Being co-located with the Winery and Estate Vineyard, there is an opportunity for our visitors to see our business first hand.

The Role

Reporting to the Cellar Door Manager, the Assistant Manager is a key role within the business, ensuring guests visiting the winery enjoy a high-quality experience.

• This role is a either permanent casual or permanent part-time role (by discussion) with scope to become full time with work in other areas of the business.
• Cellar Door working hours Friday – Sun 10:30am-4:30pm. Weekend work is required, no evening work required.
• Hosting visits and conducting wine tastings.
• Promotion of Hayes Family Wines, on and off-site.
• Support Cellar Door Manager with weekly administration and day-to-day running of the Cellar Door.
• Maintain cleaning and OH&S standards.
• We are a small business so there will be times when you will be working across all areas of the cellar door.

Criteria:

• Experience in Hospitality.
• A passion for customer service – while this is in a hospitality environment, success in this role will come down to sales and service.
• Current drivers licence.
• Ability to work autonomously and make decisions in the cellar door that are consistent with Hayes Family Wines core values.
• A self starter that can cope with business and quiet days, taking the opportunity to assist in marketing and other activities as required
• Be legally allowed to work in Australia.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
