About Us

We manage three vineyards across the Canberra District, and have long-term relationships with growers from across the Hilltops, Tumbarumba and Gundagai regions. About You

Reporting to the General Manager, you will work closely with the Chief Winemaker and Managing Director, Alex McKay, the Viticulturalist, and lead a small team of laboratory and cellar staff, as well as vintage casual staff.

 

This is a hands-on role that will manage cellar operations from grape intake to bottling, including for contract winemaking clients. You will be responsible for day-to-day production processes at the winery site. You will demonstrate the ability to manage many complex operations, in a co-operative team environment.

 

We are looking for a proactive team player, able to adapt to a changing and flexible environment. You will work collaboratively with each member of the Collector Wines team across our vineyards, winery, and cellar door. You will promote and champion the professional development of the winery team. An eye for detail, good communication, and a positive attitude are a must!

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Oenology/Wine Science
  • Relevant winemaking experience
  • Physically capable of performing operational duties
  • Ability to work extended hours when required
  • Focus on cleanliness, hygiene and attention to detail
  • Record-keeping including work orders and LIP
  • Prepare wines for blending and bottling as required, and ensure compliance within specifications
  • Liaison with suppliers
  • Oversee the winery maintenance program and ensure workplace health & safety
    procedures are followed
  • Team leadership and development of staff
  • Enthusiasm, reliability and energy
  • Valid forklift & driver’s licences
