The FABAL Group is a wine, agribusiness and agri-tourism group with investments and management in many types of related industries. It is the 5th largest manager of Vineyards in Australia with over 1,600 hectares of Premium vineyards under management in the key premium grape regions throughout Australia.

FABAL now has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join our team and be a key influencer in the growth and development of our wine brands throughout the Australian market.

The successful applicant will leverage his/her knowledge and experience to build and develop wine sales initially in its home base of South Australia with a future focus on the Victoria and New South Wales markets.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised and a pro-active sales specialist who has a passion and knowledge of wine along with a strong sales background. This role may ideally suit someone who is looking to progress their sales career to the next level.

Working directly with the CEO and executive management committee (“EMC”), you will have strong support to guide the sales strategy to a broad range of target markets.  You will also work with our sales team based in two regional cellar doors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Driving wine sales for the Vineyard Road brand (requires intra and interstate travel);
  • Identifying new business opportunities through restaurants, independent outlets and D2C;
  • Develop and Manage a integrated plan across online sales and cellar door;
  • Driving long term sales growth;
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships;
  • Setting, delivering, and driving the sales forecast for the expanding wine portfolio;
  • Develop strategies for meeting and exceeding budgets;
  • Work with Marketing Manager to align promotional activities to improve sales;

Experience & Skills 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar or related sales role;
  • Experience in wine and agri-tourism;
  • Experience with retailers and wholesale distributors in the domestic marketplace;
  • Any experience with international distribution may be an advantage;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Tertiary qualification in business or related discipline may be an advantage but is not required;
  • Proven track record of working to KPI’s and achieving sales targets;
  • Ability to manage existing relationships and attract new customers;
  • Ability to connect and engage with customers;
  • Ability to work with sales and distribution platforms to implement sales objectives;
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet changing deadlines and work well under pressure;

A salary package, including a competitive base salary, along with commission will be offered for this position.  Other required tools will also be included with the overall package.
