The new Viticulturist for the Meadowbank vineyard will be joining a dynamic family business and have the opportunity to be part of exciting growth and development plans. Meadowbank is one of the most iconic vineyards in Tasmania and in addition to its own brand, Meadowbank Wines, it also supplies fruit to a range of premium brands, including Arras, Bay of Fires, Handpicked Wines, Dawson James and Kate Hill Wines.
The 50 Ha vineyard in the Derwent Valley is planted with a mix of cool climate varieties, with plans for a 14 Ha expansion underway. Set on the banks of the Derwent River, the family property also includes 2500 Ha of grazing land and is just a one-hour drive from Hobart, providing an idyllic rural lifestyle. Close to Tasmania’s incredible national parks, trails and waterways, there are endless options for adventure activities and to experience the area’s unique natural wonders.
Reporting directly to the owner, this is a hands-on role that will be responsible for technical viticulture, operational plans, grape supply contracts and vineyard budgets. The Viticulturist will also work closely with the wine business, which is a partnership between the Ellis family and the Winemaker, Peter Dredge and his family.
