Deviation Road is a small, family owned and run Adelaide Hills winery specialising in traditional method sparkling wines, still chardonnay, pinot noir, shiraz as well as aromatic whites.

We are looking for an experienced cellarhand to join the team for 2021, from mid February to May (approx). The role is perfect for someone wanting to use their hands as well as their experience and knowledge to ensure high quality wines are produced. Fermentation management, small batch red fruit processing, running the basket press, grape picking logistics and transport as well as cellar hygiene are critical areas of the job.

The incumbent will be involved in:
• harvest operations - fruit and bin logistics across multiple vineyard sites
• grape sample preparation and analysis
• Must transfers
• Fermentation management, yeast and MLF inoculations and temperature control
• Barrel work

• Red ferment management and basket press operation
• Cellar and tank cleaning

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar position
• Forklift license and experience
• Driver’s license (manual vehicles)
• Practical machinery skills
