Our family owned business specialises in vineyard management and operational services, supporting our local customer base of private vineyard owners, local grape growers, winery owned vineyards, leased vineyards and vineyard investors. We have been operating for over 12 years, with the owners having 20+ years of viticultural experience and an experienced team behind them.

Based in the beautiful Barossa Valley, Vineyard Mates is ideally situated 60 mins from the Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale and the Riverland. The Barossa offers a wonderful relaxed lifestyle and is the production centre for more than 20 per cent of Australian wine with all the major producers represented.

 The Roles:

Vineyard Mates is entering an exciting new growth stage. Under the leadership of a talented team, the business is looking for casual / full time Vineyard Operator roles within our Vineyard Mates team.

These are hands on Vineyard Machinery Operator roles dedicated to the Vineyard Mates business, doing a wide variety of operations and vineyard tasks and support the comprehensive range of services our customers receive.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

• Relevant qualifications and practical experience - minimum Cert 3 in Wine Industry Operations - Wine Grape Growing
• Ability to work within a team environment and follow directives or work independently without supervision.
• Experience with use and maintenance of vineyard plant and equipment including tractors, harvesters, barrel pruners, post knockers, spreaders and sprayers
• Experience calibrating & spraying chemicals
• Assist with mechanical harvesting operations, operate a forklift, hand picking, planting and pruning vines, vine training
• Undertaking irrigation systems maintenance activities
• Install and maintain vine trellis

• Prepared to work flexible hours and do overtime as required.
• Prepared to work in all weather conditions
• Positive can-do attitude
• Good communication and organisational ability.

Essential Licenses:

• Full Drivers Licence and MR License
• Full Pest Management Technician's License
• High Risk Licence – Forklift & Loader

Whilst not essential, the following would be advantageous:

• HV Licence
• Irrigation team leader experience
