Lerida Estate is a Multi award winning Winery and Vineyard, overlooking the scenic Lake George, in the Canberra District Wine region. In addition to our home site, we manage vineyards in the Murrumateman region. Our focus is on producing premium cool climate grapes and award-winning cool climate wines.

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Vineyard Operator to join our team. The position is a hands-on role focusing on vineyard operations on a day to day basis, reporting directly to the Viticulturist.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The successful candidate:

• Will be required to carry out vineyard operations efficiently and effectively and in a timely manner as directed by the viticulturist
  • Manual tasks include pruning, de-suckering, shoot thinning, tucking and hand harvesting, as well as trellis & irrigation maintenance.
  • Tractor operations include fungicide applications, mowing, trimming & netting
• Will be prepared to work out of normal hours when seasonal demand requires.
• Will be prepared to work at any of our vineyard locations as the work demand requires.
• Will maintain and operate all machinery in accordance with safe operating procedures and policies.
• As part of a small team will be encouraged to be involved in all aspects of the business as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• You'll need to love working outdoors, be self-motivated and reliable. You are hardworking, pro-active and work well in a small team environment. You must have the ability to work autonomously at times.
• Knowledge and experience of viticulture practices is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided. However, prior viticulture, horticulture or agriculture experience is highly regarded.
• A current driver’s licence is essential as well as the legal right to work in Australia.
• You will need a Chemcert qualification or willingness to complete.
• Truck and forklift licence would be an advantage
• Sound mechanical and machinery knowledge is highly regarded
