Vineyard Manager – Lake Marmal (Boort, Vic)
We are seeking a Vineyard Manager to join our team at our Lake Marmal Vineyard in Victoria. This full-time position reports to the Viticultural Manager and assumes full responsibility for management of the 169ha site including operational support, implementation of work programs, meeting yield and quality targets, supervision of vineyard teams and ensuring operations are completed safely and within budget.
This position will suit someone who has previous leadership experience working in vineyards, horticultural or agricultural properties. The position will have some hands-on duties and you will need to possess a sound knowledge of irrigation processes and have a strong mechanical aptitude. You will also understand the importance of safety in the workplace and ensure safe work practices are being utilised.
The ideal candidate will enjoy being an integral part of a dynamic team, will work to a high standard, possess exceptional people management skills, solid numeracy, literacy and communication skills together with excellent time management skills.
Skills and experience
• Experience in warm climate vineyard management
• Solutions focussed with a can do attitude
• Mechanically minded with the initiative and ability to problem solve
• Relevant degree or qualification in Viticulture
• Excellent technical understanding of Viticulture
• Solid understanding of regulations effecting viticulture and grape supply practices
• Budget management skills
