The Position 

We are seeking enthusiastic Vineyard Hand/Operators to be involved in all facets of contract vineyard works including spraying and harvesting, machinery operations and general vineyard and property maintenance on our own vineyards, as well as vineyards in those regions that UCS contracts out to.

The Pellenc Optimum Harvesters offers a new and unprecedented level of crop yield and cleanliness, totally unmatched by any other harvester available in NSW at present. United own three state of the art French made self-propelled harvesters. Training is provided on our Pellenc machines however successful candidates must be quick learners and previous vineyard industry experience is a must.

You will be required to move between the Mudgee and Hunter Regions but you will have adequate temporary accommodation when this does occur.

The role is based on a minimum 40-hour week. Successful candidates will be engaged on a casual contract and a permanent position may be offered following completion of your three-month probation. The hourly rate of pay ranges between $25 - $40 per hour depend on your experience, qualifications, and operational-skill level.

About You

• Vineyard spraying and vineyard operations experience highly desirable;
• Must possess, or willing to obtain valid ChemCert accreditation;
• Must be able to operate tractors and vineyard related attachments;
• Must have high attention to detail and standards of work, being capable of basic repairs and maintenance;
• Experience in working to deadlines with adaptability to changing priorities;
• It is essential you are able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required;
• It is essential that you are able to work well unsupervised, be reliable and punctual;
• Personable with the ability to communicate well (verbal and written) between the team and external clients;
• Manual car licence is essential, it would be highly advantageous if licence is HR or higher;
• Forklift ticket highly regarded but not essential.
