We are seeking someone who will be a key member of our sensory team, responsible for the assessment, grading and blending of all spirit products, to ensure they meet the requirements, expectations, and specifications of our customers. You will need to have confidence in your palate and be willing and able to make decisions and/or provide constructive, and potentially opposing view-points at the tasting table. During production periods this task is performed twice daily, including on weekends and this has been taken into account when setting the salary for this role.
Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the Sales Manager with our key domestic customers, providing advice and information on all our products and services, and fulfilling orders in support of the entire sales team. The role will have the responsibility to develop, implement, and manage our records related to spirit profiles, including samples of products, customer information, and specifications.
The most important criteria is to have exceptional sensory skills, developed probably within the wine, distilled spirit, beverages, or food products industries and refined over time to an excellent level. It is expected that the regular use of your sensory abilities will form part of your current role. The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in oenology, chemical engineering, food technology, or a related field, and up to 4 years post-graduate work experience is expected.
