Murray Street is a boutique winery located at Greenock in the Barossa Valley and is home to some of the oldest Rhône and Bordeaux grape varietal vines in the world.

This boutique winery pays homage to the Barossa Valley’s architectural heritage. With a renowned tasting room and an iconic barrel hall, the reception and administration wing greets visitors with eye-catching views of the courtyard, and the Barossa Valley’s northern skyline.

The role:

We are currently seeking a Tasting Room Manager who will be responsible for promoting our brand and business by creating exceptional customer experiences for visitors and direct and ongoing customer and stakeholder relationships.

The main responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Hire, train, and manage Tasting Room staff including rostering
• Oversee and manage all daily/weekly tasting room tasks
• Assist in daily operations and customer service as required
• Produce monthly sales and financial reports
• Mentor and train Tasting room staff in holding engaging tasting experiences and connecting with customers
• Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that WHS guidelines and Food Safety practices are observed
• Ensure all packing and warehouse duties are adhered to
• Facilitate and execute events in the Murray Street Tasting Room
• Work with Sales and Marketing to organise and execute all consumer wine events on premises
• Participate and engage with the community including attending events
• Develop and maintain tourism commissionable experiences
• Enhance online booking and marketplace capabilities
• Build relationships with tourism operators
• Maintain POS and CRM platforms
• Utilise Murray Street’s Booking platform (Rezdy)
• Develop Tasting Room experiences & events utilising Rezdy

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3+ years Tasting Room management experience
• Extensive knowledge of the wine industry
• Previous experience managing staff
• WSET Qualifications and an RP badge
• Demonstrated operational, function and events experience
• Outgoing personality and sense of humour
• A hands-on, can-do approach
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
• First Aid certificate
• Driver’s license
