The Project Manager, Wine will support the strategy and drive the delivery of the Wine Export Recovery and Expansion Program.

DTI works with South Australian businesses and stakeholders to boost exports, attract investments and grow the state’s international engagement and showcase South Australia to the world.

DTI supports businesses to connect with overseas markets, create strong international relationships and capitalise on export opportunities, while at the same time, strengthening the South Australian economy through investment and creation of jobs.

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Market Development the Project Manager,Wine, will support the strategy, and drive the delivery of the $5.4 million Wine Export Recovery and Expansion Program. The role will support the Program performance target of 3 per cent growth in priority markets on 2019/20 exports by employing high-level, complex research and project management skills to deliver activities to grow and diversify export markets and sales channels, and to increase wine education and awareness of the South Australian wine sector.

A specific focus of the role is upon the development and successful delivery of programs to assist wine companies access new markets across the Asia Pacific region, including the development and delivery of “The South Australian Wine Specialist Program” and the development and delivery of a dedicated wine education program – “The South Australian Wine Ambassadors Program”. In addition, this role will support the delivery of activity in international markets across North America and Europe including retail and business development activities – both physical and virtual, and brand development activity to promote the premium positioning of South Australian wine.

The Project Manager, Wine will also contribute to high level documents, briefings and ministerial responses that support South Australian trade development.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

  • A demonstrated strong understanding of the wine sector across the Asia Pacific region including routes to market, trading environment, major trends, developments and their implications to future direction, market access and international trade
  • Strong project management skills for developing and delivering initiatives – including wine education and trade focussed programs physically, virtually and via e-commerce.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly when liaising with off-shore networks, government departments nationally and internationally and international trade and educators
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver wine programs in a timely manner effectively and efficiently.
  • PR, communications and social media experience.
  • Wine sector experience essential.
  • Specific experience working in or with markets across the Asia Pacific region will be viewed favourably.

Desirable Qualification:

A qualification in one or more of the following: Business (international business/marketing/Commerce/Management), Project management, MBA and Wine Spirit Education Trust qualifications is highly desirable.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
  • This contract will be offered for a term period of twelve (12) months.

Remuneration:

ASO7 -$101,859 min - $110,107 max per annum
