 Rockford Wines is synonymous with the Barossa. Started in 1984 by Robert O’Callaghan, it is unquestionably one of Australia’s most well-known wineries in the region. United by a common interest, Rockford is more like a clan than a company and has a set of core principles that strive to ensure the three groups involved are well connected and travelling in the same direction. This means the grape growing families, the Rockford team and those who buy the wine share all the pleasures that the world of quality wine brings and receive a proper reward for their contribution. The structure seems quite simple, but the challenge of maintaining these very traditional principles in a rapidly changing world is one that requires a genuine belief in Rockford’s worth and energy. As the winery embarks on generational change, this presents the opportunity for this new role to have overall responsibility for the Rockford Brand that connects the customer with Rockford and the Barossa forever.

Working closely with the General Manager and as part of the management team, you will lead the discussion and manage every aspect of the company’s communication to protect the integrity of the Rockford story and its principles. This will involve developing and managing all internal and external communications and taking full responsibility for connecting customers with Rockford and the Barossa. Providing advice, coming up with new ideas and creative strategies across brand management and events to reward customer loyalty, you will promote Rockford and tell the story of the history and traditional heritage of the Rockford wine style and the Krondorf and Barossa region.

As an experienced senior marketing, brand and customer experience leader, you will be a strategic thinker, creative in approach, with an innate ability to connect with the consumer. A proven track record of brand success, you will have demonstrated experience executing communications initiatives that have created loyalty, membership, and connection with customers. Exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit, you will be an ‘out of the box’ thinker, with a passion for customer experience. A love for food and wine and a desire to be an active participant in the Barossa community is preferred.
