In this position you will play a pivotal role in working with our growers to support and enhance environmental and sustainable growing practices.

ROLE
This role is suitable for an experienced or aspiring Grower Liaison Officer. Reporting to and in conjunction with the Senior Winemaker, you are the key to successful communication between growers and winery management.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspecting and assessing the berry condition of grapes in the vineyards of Zilzie Wines growers and suppliers, as required;
• Close consultation / communication of the outcomes of inspections and assessment to all parties concerned, including the Managing Director and Senior Winemaker;
• All aspects of grape supply including planning, grower practices, and timely delivery;
• Active participation in various industry bodies and government programs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business development;
• Key role supporting our growers and the winery achieve and maintain Sustainable Winegrowing Australia certification.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Qualification in or aspiration to study Viticulture or Agronomy.
• Experience in vineyard operations or equivalent.
• Experience in vineyard pest and disease identification and monitoring.
• Highly effective communication skills to initiate, develop, build and maintain internal and external partnerships.
• Proven organisational skills and an ability to prioritise workload.
• Experience with MS Office suite including Excel, Ezy Wine (or similar) IT platforms.
