AVL has an opening for a permanent full time Grower Liaison Officer, situated at our production site in the Mildura region. Reporting to the Commercial Planner, the successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating grape intake during the Vintage period and managing grower administration requirements throughout the year.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisation, administration and communication skills, with the ability to multitask autonomously, this role will involve the following responsibilities.

  • Liaise with the Operations Director, Winery Operations Manager and Commercial Planner in all matters relating to Winery Grape Intake.
  • Communicate with growers on a regular basis.
  • Organise grape sampling.
  • General negotiation of grape contracts, liaising with Senior Viticulture Manager and Operations Director.
  • Manage and control grower contracts and tonnages in conjunction with Senior Viticulture Manager.
  • Crop forecasting and preparation for 5 year intake plans in conjunction with the Senior Viticulture Manager.
  • Manage the vintage intake of grapes, including but not limited too.
    • Prepare and communicate plan to vineyards, carriers, and harvest operators.
    • Communicate daily plan to winery teams.
    • Manage grape purity standards within winery.
    • Manage grape carriers and overweight loads.
  • Manage and update various grower databases for the company – EzyWine, Grapelink and Jobs@Works.

The successful applicant will have 3 years’ experience in a similar wine industry role with a comprehensive understating of the wine industry and grape production and practices.

Applicants with viticulture/horticulture qualifications or extensive experience in vineyard management or grower relations operations will be highly regarded.

Critical to your success will be a willingness to become an integral and engaged member of the Australian Vintage Production team.
