The Melbourne Gin Company is a pioneer of the craft spirit industry and we have a unique opportunity for a distiller to join our small team.

Working alongside our master distiller our ideal candidate has commercial distilling, winemaking or brewing experience. You are a highly self-motivated individual capable of working autonomously and in a team environment. While being technically adept, a keen attention to detail for quality assurance through to record keeping is key, as is a good ability for problem solving. Strong background in STEMs essential. This is a hands-on role that is physically demanding.

This role is based in the Yarra Valley on site at Gembrook Hill Vineyard. There is opportunity for exposure to all facets of vineyard and wine production.

Responsibilities

All facets of day to day production including:

• Production planning
• Inventory management
• Stock ordering
• Distillation
• Bottling and packaging
• Quality Assurance
• Warehousing
• Managing inwards and outwards goods
• Record keeping

Skills and Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in distillation/winemaking/brewing and the appropriate qualifications

• Have a good palate
• Have an eye for the continual improvement of processes and products
• A practical understanding of work, health, and safety requirements

• A current forklift licence
