Based in Margaret River and with vineyard holdings in Mount Barker, Howard Park is seeking a high-calibre Chief Winemaker to drive the Estate into its new era – a rare position overseeing a dedicated team and formidable portfolio in one of the great regions of Australia.
Established in 1986, Howard Park is one of the great houses of Western Australia. A member of Australia’s First Families of wine and a driving force behind the international reputation of Margaret River and the Great Southern over decades. With 146 Ha across 3 sites in Margaret River, 70 Ha across 2 sites in Mount Barker and direct-managed grower properties, the vineyards are significant. Howard Park has an uncompromising drive for quality across all styles – still and sparkling – and the entire portfolio – from the accessible MadFish range to the flagship Abercrombie and Marchand & Burch wines.
The wines are distributed across Australia and exported around the world, including to Vietnam, Hong Kong, the UK, USA and mainland China.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Winemaker will be responsible for the efficient, safe and effective management of all winery operations (approximately 4,500 Tonne) and wine quality. Leading the winery team while liaising with trade, media, industry bodies, contract clients, growers and the vineyard team, this is a demanding, complex role. The position demands a high level of professionalism and commitment to the company’s vision for wine quality, value, safety and environmental responsibility.
An attractive remuneration package, commensurate with experience, is available to the successful candidate.
