Job description

We are seeking a Cellar Hand with drive and enthusiasm, who is passionate about teamwork, quality wine and the wine industry. Experience in the wine industry is desirable, although not essential.

About You

You are an approachable, enthusiastic, responsive, self-motivated person who has a focus on cleanliness and hygiene, ability to work under pressure and, when required due to the season, ability to work some long hours. You are a team player and understand the importance of good communication and a positive attitude. You will have a willingness to learn and attention to detail.

You will report to the General Manager and work independently as well as with our Winemaker, Viticulturist, other colleagues and seasonal casuals. On the job training will be provided for product specific tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform key cellar operations including but not limited to transfers, rackings, fruit receival, barrel work, blending, filtration, operating winery equipment, and more
  • Clean and sanitise tanks and equipment
  • Dedication to uphold quality and safe working practices
  • Routine winery maintenance
  • Laboratory analysis
  • Desirable, although not essential – previous wine industry experience, forklift licence, confined spaces ticket
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture
  • Willingness to learn
  • The position requires an ability and willingness to work some extended hours of shift work during the vintage period from February to May each year, as well as occasionally in vineyards.
