Cellar Door Manager - Shut the Gate Wines - Clare Valley

Shut the Gate Wines is a small independent wine producer with Cellar Door operations in both the Clare Valley SA and Berridale NSW. We are a fast growing wine business with a dedicated crew that are passionate about quality and delivering excellence in customer service.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dynamic person to head up our Clare Valley Cellar Door and Wine Club. This is a salaried full time position and the successful incumbent will be expected to work a seven day rotating roster covering some weekend and peak holiday periods. Attending industry events with occasional overnight and interstate travel may be required.

Applicants must have proven Cellar Door Management experience or relevant hospitality management experience. The position reports to the General Manager and the salary is negotiable based upon experience.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Deliver a consistent high quality and unique Shut the Gate Cellar Door experience.

Assist in the development, planning and execution of the Cellar Door promotional programme in conjunction with the General Manager and Brand Manager.

Manage our CRM and direct to consumer activities.

Manage and develop The Little Grocer Clare Valley component of the business.

Service our wholesale customers in the Clare Valley region.

Accurately monitor and report on stock.

Manage, motivate and train cellar door staff.

Organise staff rosters.

Weekly and monthly activity reporting.

Budgeting development and monitoring.

Achievement of sales targets and KPIs.

Key Skills and Experience

Proven Cellar Door management or equivalent hospitality experience.

Proven subscription wine club development and management experience.

Experience in using CRM, POS and inventory control systems.

Proven hospitality and / or event management experience.

Excellent customer service, networking and relationship skills.

High level communication skills both verbal and written.

Proven team leadership and motivational skills.

Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Experience in budget and report preparation.

A high level of initiative and the ability to work independently.

A passion for the wine industry, fine wine and food.
