About the role:

We are seeking a passionate individual who cares about creating premium experiences and growing with our business.

The Cellar Door Manager  is a senior role within the Handpicked Experience Team. The role has the responsibility to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the urban cellar door with the aim to increase wine sales and business revenue in line with the Handpicked Wines brand strategy. This involves the day to day running of the venue as well as driving corporate, event and wine subscriptions with the overall promotion of the cellar door as a premium experiential venue.

This position will work closely with the Marketing Team on creative planning and wine release timing as well as the winemakers and wider Handpicked Wines management team. Team mentoring, training and motivation is an important part of the role as is general venue management. This includes forecasting, budget reporting, sales analysis, menu planning, purchasing, rostering, and collaboration with your team to provide innovative solutions to ensure a both premium and pioneering customer experience.

About you:

This hands-on role necessitates someone who is entrepreneurial, energised by being part of a ground-breaking concept in the wine industry and motivated by meeting sales targets. You will thrive in a fast paced hospitality environment, be organized and cool headed.

The successful applicant will have strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends and proven experience in people management.

A sound knowledge of wines, and the skills to share this passion with the team and the guests is essential. WSET certification or similar wine is desirable.

You will have strong skills using Microsoft office with proven experience in managing events or premium venues. Having a valid RSA, work Visa/citizenship and the ability to work weekends and evenings as needed is essential, as is being physically fit, capable of lifting cases of wine and general stock, cleaning and assisting with general housekeeping duties as required.
