BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER
Turkey Flat is tucked away on the edge of Tanunda in the beautiful Barossa Valley, surrounded by historic
vineyards dating back to 1847. The name Turkey Flat Vineyard derives from the Prussian settlers of Bethany and
Langmeil in the early 1840s. They noticed that a large native bird frequented the rich flats located towards the
lower end of the Tanunda Creek. They called the site ‘Turkey Flat’, as a result the significance of the bird and
the original landscape it came from, symbolises the artwork on the Turkey Flat Vineyard’s wine labels.
The Schulz family have been custodians of Turkey Flat since the 1860s, and the fourth generation of the Schulz
family, headed by Christie Schulz, are the current caretaker/proprietors of this remarkable estate. Their business
has flourished and enjoyed considerable success over recent years, which has resulted in the business seeking
to appoint a Business Operations Manager to manage the day to day operations of the winery and ensure that
appropriate operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, people and systems are in place for
the ongoing effective performance of the winery.
This role affords a unique opportunity to work across a multitude of operational functions within the business, whilst working closely with the Proprietor and Chief Winemaker. The successful candidate will be an influencial member of the Executive Leadership Team.
