About Bangor Vineyard Shed

Bangor Vineyard Shed is a multi-award-winning vineyard, cellar door, restaurant, and tourism destination in Tasmania’s beautiful Tasman Peninsula region. As one of Australia’s top cellar doors, we pride ourselves on offering world-class wine & food, warm hospitality, and unforgettable experiences.

We are 4-times winner of the Tasmanian Tourism Awards (Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries), and 2-times winner nationally. We are proud to be a member of the Tasmanian Tourism Hall of Fame.

Our vineyard is part of our farm, owned and cared for by our family for 135 years. We are located near the scenic seaside township of Dunalley, 50 minutes’ drive from Hobart on the highway to the Port Arthur Historic Site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and help lead the growth of our business, direct-to-customer wine sales, and venue operations.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cellar Door Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cellar door venue, with a focus on direct to customer sales. Working alongside our restaurant manager, head chef, and experienced team, this leadership role involves delivering exceptional experiences to our guests, managing and inspiring our team, driving sales growth, and ensuring the smooth operation of our venue.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage the daily operations of the cellar door, ensuring outstanding service and experiences for our visitors, in a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, representing our brand and values to our team and guests.
  • Regular customer-facing shifts in the cellar door, providing engaging wine tastings, sharing our wines and stories with customers.
  • Manage and grow our direct-to-customer wine sales, including wine club subscriptions and member retention.
  • Develop and implement strategies and processes to drive cellar door visitation and sales, customer engagement, and restaurant wine sales.
  • Foster strong relationships within our local wine and tourism networks to further enhance Bangor’s reputation as a must-visit destination and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of events and guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote Bangor’s offerings and expand brand awareness.
  • Meet key sales targets.
  • Manage inventory, stock control, and financial reporting for the cellar door.

You will bring the following to the role:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, cellar door management, direct-to-customer sales, and wine club operations.
  • A passion for wine and the ability to share Bangor’s story with enthusiasm and authenticity.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and manage a team.
  • Strong customer service focus, with a track record of delivering exceptional experiences.
  • An understanding of the broader Australian wine industry, national wine markets and wine promotion.
  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and organisational skills.
  • The flexibility to work weekends and adapt to the business’s operational needs.
  • A demonstrated ability to network effectively and build strong relationships within the wine and tourism sectors.
  • Knowledge of Tasmanian wines, tourism, and local produce is a bonus.
  • Experience in marketing and social media.

What We Offer

  • A supportive work environment at one of Tasmania’s most iconic and scenic cellar doors.
