Stanton & Killeen Wines

Company Information

Stanton & Killeen is one of Australia’s oldest family-owned wineries with a rich history that spans seven generations and 145 years. Today, mother-daughter team, Wendy and Natasha Killeen, are looking to the future by combining the best features of the old and the new.

Their small team continues the tradition of making award winning barrel-aged fortifieds and Vintage Fortifieds as well as having fun with 14 different grape varieties, of which half are Portuguese. The cellar door in Rutherglen offers an exciting mix of rare and unusual wines including Sparkling Tempranillo, Arinto and Alvarinho and old favourites such as Durif, Muscat and Topaque.

Sixth-generation winemaker Chris Killeen was best known for his passion and skill in creating Vintage Fortifieds. His unique style combined traditional Rutherglen varieties of Shiraz and Durif with several Portuguese grapes varieties that he planted in the 1990s.  These vineyards, plus more emerging varieties recently planted, are now being used across a range of wines styles.
