Introduction

Located near the South Island city of Christchurch (population 367,700), in the province of Canterbury, Lincoln is a national University that draws its students from throughout New Zealand and from over 60 countries. The University has a student roll of around 4500 and an academic staff of approximately 250. There are 31 full professors and 23 associate professors.

Lincoln University’s history stretches back more than a hundred and twenty five years.

The University has an established campus noted for its space and the quality of the environment. The 58 hectare campus houses modern teaching spaces, an excellent library and campus facilities, and accommodation for approximately 650 students during the University year. The University continues to achieve international recognition for its teaching and research activities and is renowned for its entrepreneurship. Lincoln is as a catalyst for new and diverse approaches to stimulate and develop the transfer of knowledge.
