Job Description

Norfolk Rise Vineyard is a 700-1000 tonne winery located in the Mount Benson wine region on the Limestone Coast between the towns of Robe and Kingston 3 hours South of Adelaide. Norfolk Rise Vineyard produces cool climate, award winning Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

We are seeking a wine loving, all-rounder to join our small team for vintage 2018 commencing early January. There is scope for the role to become full time after vintage for the right candidate. This role will involve cellar work, with the remaining tasks comprising of winemaking support, administration, sample collection and lab work, data entry, general winery upkeep, sales support, some marketing and promotional events including local and city based festivals. The successful candidate will report directly to the Winemaker.

There are expectations on the successful applicant to be available to work within all areas of the business. From sales, marketing, festivals, stock distribution, and everything in between, you will be expected to be versatile and adaptable.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience working in wineries. They will have a passion for producing cool climate wines of the highest calibre and a positive, can-do attitude. They will be physically fit and able to lift 25kg. They will be willing to work extended hours throughout the harvest period from late February to early April. They will show initiative and drive with the opportunity to advance in the business to a winemaking role for the right candidate. They will operate as a positive ambassador for our brand and assist in executing our brand message.

The successful candidate will be able to commence on a full time basis from mid-January 2018. An undergraduate/postgraduate degree in Oenology is preferred. Forklift licence and RSA are an advantage. Experience with “Ezy Systems” is an advantage.

An initial Skype interview will be part of the selection process, and following review of applications, will commence in November 2017, interviews at the winery will commence after this.
