This is an opportunity to work at Yalumba and be part of an innovative and modern laboratory and winemaking team. The position, primarily based at the Angaston winery, requires knowledge of winemaking processes and microbiological quality control. The successful candidate will have superior microbiological knowledge and demonstrate great attention to detail and communication skills. Knowledge and experience with RT-PCR would be an advantage. You will enjoy teamwork and also be capable of operating with some autonomy.
The position involves providing technical support to winemakers, bottling and cellar personnel; responsibility for all yeast and bacteria propagation for vintage and sparkling wine secondary fermentation; quality management; trouble shooting and research and development within the winemaking innovation program.
Reporting to the Winemaker / Laboratory Manager this permanent position will require some weekend work, particularly during the vintage months.
