With fine wines and meads showcased in an award winning restaurant, a century old limestone cave producing the freshest mushrooms and a pine hedge maze the Maxwell Experience extends beyond the cellar door.

THE ROLE

As the Cellar Door Manager you will play a hands on role in overseeing and developing the tasting experience at Maxwell Wines. You will be excited and motivated to lead a team and drive the standard of customer service across wine tastings and new food and wine experiences.

Reporting to the Direct Marketing and Communications Manager you will play a key role in executing Direct to Customer strategy including wine club growth and initiatives, as well as managing the day to day operation and administration of a busy cellar door. Most importantly you will be able to lead by example in demonstrating exceptional customer service and sales abilities as well as a passion for wine and food. You will have a keen attention to detail and good administration and time management skills.

This position will suit someone with previous experience in a similar role, however a highly experienced and ambitious cellar door or hospitality professional ready to take the next step into management could also be considered.

Key competencies:

  • Experience managing a team (preferably in a hospitality, tourism or cellar door environment)
  • Ability to train and motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences and meet sales targets
  • Experience with Wine Club recruitment and administration
  • Strong wine knowledge
