The Brown Family Wine Group’s Kayena Winery is a leading producer of quality cool climate Tasmanian wines. Founded in 1994 as Tamar Ridge Estates, the name has changed but the ethos is the same; to provide consumers with a variety of quality still and sparkling wines to enjoy at any occasion.

Located north of Launceston in the renowned Tamar Valley, the winery draws grapes predominantly from the East Coast and Tamar Valley, contributing to our Pirie Sparkling, Tamar Ridge and Devil’s Corner wines.

The Job: Reporting to the Winemaker, this role is expected to commence in mid February with the period of employment being up to 12 weeks (depending upon the season). Your primary responsibility will be to provide motivation and supervision to vintage staff and to ensure work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner.

The Vintage Supervisor will work closely with Winemakers to implement a highly varied range of winemaking protocols. Drawing on wine production experience and knowledge (fruit quality assessment, calculation of additions etc), the Vintage Supervisor can make important contributions to product quality.

What’s Required: We seek a pro-active individual who demonstrates strong organisational skills and the ability to lead and motivate others in a busy winery environment. You will possess excellent communication skills, a high level of self-motivation and be committed to a high standard of wine quality.

What’s on Offer: The opportunity to work with a variety of high quality still and sparkling wines, PLUS penalty rates and an accommodation allowance will be offered to the successful candidates.

Essential: Given the location of the Winery, a drivers licence and access to a vehicle will be important. Only applicants who have Australian citizenship, residency or a valid work permit AND are experienced Australian Forklift Licence holder will be considered for these roles.

Timing: Depending upon the season, you must be available in mid February with the period of employment being up to 12 weeks.
