Are you an honest, hardworking, common sensed person with a positive attitude looking for work in the upcoming vintage in the Barossa Valley for Vintage 2020?
Various tasks such as operating wine pumps, crusher/destemmer operation, must pump operation, barrel washing and filling, ferment monitoring and pump overs, digging out fermenters, operating bag press and many more tasks.
Previous forklift experience/license would be a big advantage.
Drivers license is a requirement of this job as you'll be required to do some driving. Other farm/vineyard/tractor skills would be a bonus.
You'll be part of a small team of hard working individuals and required to put in quality work and to be self-motivated and have solid initiative to think through tasks and problem solve by yourself at times. While most times you'll be required to follow directions from our winemaking/management team.
Expected work period (Timing of vintage dependent on weather and ripening)
If successful you'll be working at a small family owned and operated winery which produces mostly premium Shiraz wine grapes as well as smaller volumes of Cab Sauv, Grenache and various alternate varieties of wine grapes. Due to the high intake of Shiraz there will be a 3-4 week period where operations will be very busy and a need to produce high quality work is extremely important.
Previous experience or an active/keen interest in the wine industry would be highly beneficial.
There is potential for future employment within the company as a versatile winery, cellar door and vineyard worker.
