Estate-grown and managed fruit is at the heart of our wines at Wirra Wirra and Ashton Hills Vineyards.

Due to recent expansion of our managed vineyard portfolio, we have the opportunity for a talented Vineyard Manager to join the Tribe to look after our 40 hectares of  owned and leased vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.

In this role you will work closely with our Viticulturist to get the best out of our organic and biodynamic certified vineyards in McLaren Vale, and our cool climate sites in the Adelaide Hills at Lenswood and Piccadilly.

You will become an important part of our fruit resource management, working to ensure these blocks have the best opportunity to deliver wine-driven quality and style targets. The role will also assist the Viticulturist with technical decisions, grower liaison, vintage responsibilities, and administration. You will report to the Viticulturist and be based at our historic McLaren Vale winery.

You must be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • An understanding of warm and cool climate grape-growing and the management techniques associated with both
  • Experience working with contractors, operating machinery, supervision of staff and coordinating seasonal work plans
  • A successful track record in supervising vineyard operations throughout the growing season
  • Enthusiasm for organic and biodynamic farming practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the willingness to interact with a range of people within and external to the business
  • Computer literacy, budgeting, reporting and record keeping skills
  • An understanding of health and safety, environmental and quality control systems

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and initiative that wants to further their career in the wine industry. Qualifications in Viticulture or another related field is desired, as is experience in similar vineyard management or supervisory roles.
