About the role:
This is a newly created position to support our growing Sustainability team at AVL. The role will provide high-level support on environmental management, compliance and planning and assessment requirements to assure compliance with organisation environmental and sustainability frameworks.
We welcome applications from candidates with qualifications and previous experience in environmental science. However, we also understand that many people have a personal passion for the sector and are looking to a career change in Sustainability. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability your primary duties will include:
- Collate corporate information and data to allow for accurate reporting and assessments.
- Prepare monthly / annual reports on winery environmental compliance.
- Prepare and collate data for reporting and compliance monitoring associated with industry certifications and commitments (including APCO, Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, GHG Protocol)
- Working closely with Operations Director and Head of Sustainability to drive internal communication around company Sustainability initiatives.
- Support the preparation of annual sustainability (ESG) reporting
- Support on additional projects and accreditation applications.
- Work Health and Safety – To conform to and take responsibility for all reasonable Work Health and Safety related issues within the work force that apply to you.
We are looking for:
- Excellent Communication Skills: This role requires a high degree of stakeholder management and working cross functionally between numerous departments.
- Qualifications: Our ideal candidate has tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or equivalent. Although this is not a necessity.
- Excel nous: This person will spend time collating and imputing data from numerous business units. Knowledge of Excel is essential.
- Project management skills; As our business progresses on our sustainability journey we are looking for someone who can steer change and delivery new policies and practices, across multiple regions and sites.
- Passion for sustainability: We are looking for someone who’s enthusiasm for sustainability and the environmental sector matches our big ambitions in this space.
