Saltram Wine Estate, Barossa, South Australia
About Saltram
No history of the Australian wine industry is complete without the mention of Saltram Wine Estates. One of the founding wineries of the Barossa, Saltram has been crafting wines since 1852.
Today, Saltram remains an ever-popular destination for visitors seeking to experience our award-winning wines, historic winery and renown restaurant, Salter’s Kitchen.
Since foundation, Saltram has had just 10 Chief Winemakers and has been the nursery to some of Australia's great winemakers including Peter Lehmann, Nigel Dolan and Shavaughn Wells. Today, current Saltram Chief Winemaker, Alex MacKenzie, upholds the tradition of quality Saltram Barossa sourced wines, along with Richard Mattner, Chief winemaker of Australia’s number one shiraz, Pepperjack.
