The Hidden Sea – One Wine. One Mission:

to remove plastic from the world’s oceans.

Our goal is to remove 1 billion plastic bottles from the ocean by 2030  and we are looking for a new tribe member to join our passionate team.  We’ve already removed 1.2 million bottles since July 2020  (that’s over 20,000 kilos of plastic!).  The Hidden Sea has launched in Australia, the UK, Sweden and Denmark and we are continuing global expansion to include the USA and Thailand later this year.

The Role

As the Bookkeeper reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the day to day financial management of the company to ensure its legal compliance and business security.  Typical duties will include:

  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and accruals
  • Month-end accounting and compliance
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Financial and administration operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Payroll including: all statutory requirements such as super, payroll tax and other salary on-cost payments
  • Credit card reconciliations and payments
  • Meet all lease, HP, debt payment obligations
  • Ensure GL hygiene and adherence to coding conventions
  • Work with winery operations to calculate WET rebate ensuring timely and accurate calculations
  • BAS reporting and reconciliation
  • ATO vendor bills in NetSuite

Experience

This is a varied Bookkeeping and accounts role where your attention to detail and strong customer service skills will collide as you liaise with our loyal customers and growers whilst ensuring the efficient, compliant and accurate running of the accounts function.

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper who has come from a similar role or background and is comfortable working autonomously. A sound understanding of all facets of bookkeeping (including payroll) is essential along with a proficiency in Netsuite, MS Office and Xero.  Wine industry experience would be preferred but not essential.
