Moppity Vineyards is a rapidly growing family owned and operated business, based in the Hilltops region of NSW. In 2011, we acquired the largest vineyard in Tumbarumba - a region fast gaining recognition as a source of some of Australia's finest chardonnay. The vineyard forms an important part of Moppity Vineyard's future growth strategy and the vineyard's first wine brand, Coppabella, will be launched later this year. Our vision is to one day produce Australia's best chardonnay and pinot noir, in the process placing the Tumbarumba region among Australia's elite wine regions.
This role provides an outstanding opportunity for a motivated and ambitious vineyard manager to make a name for themselves as a key player in the evolution of this exciting region.
We are seeking an experienced "hands on" vineyard manager to oversee vineyard operations and work with the existing small team to plan and achieve short and long term goals. The successful applicant will have a combination of practical and management experience as well as excellent knowledge and experience in cool climate viticulture.
You will report directly to the CEO and will perform a range of functions, including:
- planning and resource scheduling
- budget management and reporting
- pest and disease control
- machinery maintenance
- supervision of permanent, casual and contract labour
- liaising with the winemaker and other key stakeholders
As a "working" manager, you will be working hands-on in the vineyard and with machinery, including grape harvesters, fungicide and herbicide sprayers etc.
