Make Wines Australia (MWA) operates the Step Rd winery in the beautiful Langhorne Creek region of South Australia.  Sourcing fruit from iconic Australian wine regions MWA is home to a variety of wine brands that appeal to a wide range of wine consumers.  Wine labels include Step Rd, Beresford, Katherine Hills, Half Mile Creek, Andrew Garrett, Queen Adelaide and more!!!

This newly created Senior Winemaker position will provide an energetic, passionate, commercially astute and experienced winemaker with an opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and growing organisation in a diverse and challenging position.  The Senior Winemaker will partner with the business to drive the on-going development of the MWA portfolio through:

• Developing the product style profiles
• Leading the winemaking process ensuring it optimises quality, efficiency and profitability
• Being the brand’s spokesperson in local and international markets
• Developing and delivering internal wine education programs
• Undertaking promotional and in-trade activities

Diversity and variability is key to the role with the successful applicant working with produce from both warm and cool climate regions, generating products across all price points and developing and promoting a wide array of products: table wine, sparking and even cider. 

To be successful applicants must be passionate and knowledgeable about the wine industry as well as a confident and charismatic spokesperson capable of supporting the field sales team and expediting acceptance of brands in the trade.  Superior leadership and management skills are essential as is a strong commercial understanding of the industry and a drive to make and distribute quality and profitable wines across all price points.
