               Part time role - National Wine Communications

Established in 1976, WCA is Australia’s leading national organisation for wine professionals who share a commitment to excellence, professionalism and innovation in communication about wine. WCA provides a dynamic link between the wine sector, media and consumers by delivering first class professional and networking events, webinars, education and awards programs.   

Wine Communicators of Australia operates as a not for profit company comprising state chapters in NSW, VIC, SA and WA. The company is currently enjoying rapid growth, which has led to the creation of the new role of: WCA Programme Manager. This role carries responsibility for the planning, implementation, publicity and delivery of WCA's events calendar and continuing professional development projects.

 This is a 3 day per week, time-flexible position based in Sydney or, possibly, Melbourne; the candidate will require an external/home office. Working closely with the Executive Officer and National Board, you will be responsible for:

 -  Developing and delivering the annual programme and event content.

 -  Developing, evaluating, costing and finalising approved programme and event briefs

-   Preparing detailed plans and budgets for approval

-   Execution of national events and overseeing and support of state based activities

-   Evaluating and reporting on outcomes

  -  Working collaboratively with the State Chapters

 The position reports to the Executive Officer and is supported by an administration co-worker who handles membership data, website maintenance, and receipt of registrations etc. To secure this role, you will need to be an experienced wine industry professional with proven event management experience. You will already have an excellent network of current professional contacts, particularly across the communications, sales and marketing/publicity sectors. You will be a motivated, creative, self-starter with excellent time management, negotiation and problem solving skills who enjoys a high level of autonomy.
