This position reports directly to the Chief Winemaker and is responsible for: ensuring work is planned, prioritised and monitored to achieve production requirements; ensuring the efficient use of plant, labour and materials; develops and implements operational standards; ensuring high level of information flow and promotes a cooperative team environment; the management of day to day employee issues; identifing training and development needs; setting annual performance objectives, with regular reviews and feedback; delivery of cost and waste reduction and ongoing innovation; ensuring customer expectations are achieved within resource constraints.
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external customers. The successful applicant will be required to work as a part of a dynamic team and be prepared to work shifts and overtime, including vintage as required. Proven experience in wine production environments, sound planning and budgeting skills as well as demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop and monitor people is a must.
